Learning day!

So today I learned a lot! I'm really excited to use the Diagnodent on a patient and it seems easy enough. When we went over ultrasonic scalers I was so happy! I've used it on a few patients now but I never knew if I was doing it correctly. Although I know I need work to develop my skills, I feel more confident. It also helped that I could visibly see the calculus chunks coming off. The CDT thing was a bit confusing but I think it will fall into place as I get out into the field. I feel like I'm totally oblivious sometimes to what's going on besides what I've been told to notice. My goal is to become so comfrotable and natural in clinic that I have "muscle memory" ;) That'll be extremely nice for scaling! Professor Costley talked about the different instruments we could tx plan with. I've stuck with the same two to three instruments everytime. I need to go through my instruments (since I've spent so much on them) and see what I like and what works best on certain areas of calculus :) I guess I have a lot of expanding to do! But it's all part of the process.
