Semi-Annual catch up!

It really does work to be that long between my posts :s So here's what's happened since February:

Our nephew Jett turned 3. He is an avid fan of Thomas the Train and my sister-in-law always makes these cute cakes for her boys. He is so funny! Dustin loves to tease him but he starting to tease back. It's so much fun to see all that he's learning. He blessed our meal once and it was so cute to hear!

Next was our trip to San Diego. We wanted to do something fun and special for our 2 year anniversary. First it was Disney World (too expensive), then a cruise (still to much) and finally we decided on San Diego. It worked out perfectly because Dustin's favorite MLB team, the Braves, were playing the Padres that week! We took a tour of Petco Park which I thought was going to be totally lame. But of course since Dustin picked it, it was much cooler than I expected. We got to even go down on the field to where the players sit. I asked Dustin how far he thought I could get running across the perfectly manicured lawn before they took me out and he advised me not to ;)

The next day we were off to Sea World. After we got over our initial shock of having to pay to park on top of the pricey tickets, it was a fabulous day! It was warm but cloudy so I figured we'd be okay without sunscreen, plus I wanted to get as much of a tan as possible. By lunch we realized we were both toasted! I swear my in-laws think I don't know how to use sunscreen and perhaps they have a point. Shamu put on a great show and we were drenched!

We saw sharks, penguins, turtles and the amazing Cirque de la Mer! Seriously, if you go to Sea World, you have to see this show!

That night we went to my first MLB game. It was much better in person than on TV but I still had to get up for some yummy snack every few innings.

Next was our actual 2 year anniversary!!! I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown. We went to the San Diego Zoo. Neither of us had been before and it was so huge! My calves hurt the next day ;) There were so many cool animals and we slathered on the sunscreen this time!

Another baseball game, what girl wouldn’t want to celebrate marriage with sports? Hehe but it made Dustin so happy that I couldn’t refuse.

Every year that we’ve been married, Dustin asks me what I want for my birthday the night before…this year he said we’d pick it out together that night. Thankfully he was just pulling my leg and I came home to gifts on the table :D 24 feels weird and having to work on your birthday definitely makes it feel less like a party but oh well!

We celebrated birthdays for Jake, Maddi and me at Red Robin. Jake always pulls goofy faces for his present picture ;)

Easton turned 3! He is obsessed with anything dinosaurs and can tell you the name of many of them. I was so amazed because he says them so much better than me! He is always ready and willing to give hugs.

One of my offices got a laser earlier this year and the dentist sent us to San Francisco to learn how to use it. For some reason I always think California will be warm but it was most definitely NOT the case. I had no jacket with me but thankfully we ducked in and out of stores so quickly that I didn’t freeze.

I trained for and jogged in my first half marathon. It’s been on my bucket list for a while but my sister-in-law convinced me to sign up with her. My goals were to finish in less than 3 hours and to jog the entire time. I accomplished both so perhaps next time I can go a little faster ;)

My younger brother Jacob left on his mission. He’s now serving in the Houston, Texas Spanish Speaking mission. He loves it out there and writes great letters home. I’m so proud of him!!!

Dustin turned 27! He had a hard time with that one. This year he got season tickets for U of U football with his dad and brother. He’s loved going to the games and was grateful they won a few of them.

One of my friend’s from college, Tasha, got married in October. She worked with and had classes with Dustin so he’s gotten to know her better too. She looked so gorgeous!! It was my first sealing since Dustin and I got married and it was fun to reflect back to our special day :)

Kaleb turned one. I think he’s grown up the fastest! He always wants to hangout with the older grandkids and it such a happy-go-lucky kid. He pulls the best faces and is now a chatterbox!

Yet another Baltazar Halloween party with prefabricated costumes. We had planned on Dustin being a Ghostbuster and me being the ghost but it wasn’t long enough in the torso for him. Of course we didn’t discover this till 10 minutes before we were leaving so we had to swing by Wal-Mart and ended up finding some Angry Birds instead. Everyone was so creative, one of his cousins made a piƱata costume for her little boy, so cute!
