This morning I saw my Class III pt. back for the rest of his mouth. He is such a sweet man! His calculus scared me though; it was a lot of sheet calculus :s I did some more injections so slowly but surely I will meet that requirement! I'm feeling much more confident with LA. Thankfully this scale check went much better than the last (when I missed the ML of every posterior tooth!!!). I missed nothing! :D Anyway, so I passed off the LA and root debridement PEs too. It felt like a productive morning. Plus, he gave me a tip. I wish I would have realized how much he gave me because it was way too much but I've found that they're going to either leave it or put it in my pocket if I refuse so I just accept it graciously. That's my second pt. (who wasn't a relative, thanks Gramma!) who's tipped me :)
In the afternoon I saw the nice pt back who brought candy for everyone last time. There was no candy this time but he was still very nice, complimentary and good at making me blush. I hope he didn't feel bad but towards the end I was just trying to get him out of the chair instead of listening to stories :s Initially I had another pt scheduled but she had to cancel. I overheard someone saying that they see 3-4 pt per day. I want to start doing that. Otherwise I'm wasting precious time to be seeing and cleaning pt. I guess it's a skill I need to learn for private practice. Plus it will help with the Pod Production project. So things I learned today:
1. Go a little more distal on my PSAs as well as mand ant infilltrations.
2. Fill up my schedule. Be reasonable but push myself to do more.
3. When seeing pts with perio back, check deep pockets (that I've already scaled) for calculus that might be more accessible this time :)

Good work today Nicole! Your afternoon pt was funny. I know you were trying to get done, but he just wanted to talk.
You set some good goals. I'm gonna try and do the same and be more productive when filling in my schedule.
Way to be productive! And good job on not missing any calculus! I do not like sheet calculus...it's tough.
